RootDown FM - Independent Internet Radio
A little come back just to talk you about RootDown.fm
Some of you met them in their previous format "Etherbeat.com", they were an independent alternative internet radio station, streaming live 24/7, no pub, no commercial tubes, not even mainstream success if not chosen fully independently.
What do they do? Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Soul, Latin, Reggae, Afrobeat... If there is an incredible Brazilian little group editing with a local label, they might find them...
They are a little jewel, really.
Anyways just trying to be perfect :-), they tried the adventure purely for FREE, and managed to survive just upon listeners donations for a while.
They were really very good but Public we are not so used to paying for good stuff which is just available for free, so they failed (financially).
The good news? they are back under:
http://www.rootdownfm.com
We do engage now through subscription, $7,5/month and you can give it a try for a free trial of 3 days.
I'm a member again and they are still as good as before, but they are still small to survive with their business model.
I believe it is possible, do you?

and vice versa...

Phnom Pehn - Cambodia
This is one of the markets that I enjoyed the most. All the vendors were grouped in the same area by type of "industry", and the one in the picture was actually selling motorbike and cars spare parts, together with more than 20 others selling the same. Some of them they were specialized in tires, buffers, others in engine spare... looks like it is not the rush hour though.markets

Silvia mange, Silvia contente.
I've realized looking at my picture folders that I have a lot of them either eating or with food not very far... :-)
Ans so, Helene has created a stamp which pretty much resumes, very basically but very exactly, my mood.
It's not my fault, it is a family thing.

It's not my fault, it is a family thing.

So I have opened this new travel & life label which reads "Silvia mange, Silvia contente"
Simple, straight and very true.

what am I doing?
Just to clarify a little as I'm not very much "on time" answering mails in the last few weeks...
and then little skiing Tour(nette) with Mat,
Work? Oh yes, I had forgotten that one. I will finish my lazy time hanging around in different parts of the world in exactly one week. It has been 1year and a half in total and I recommend it to everybody.
So on Monday the 3rd of March I will say bye bye to L(*) " I'll hope I'll see you again soon, but if I don't please take care and have a nice day"
(quoting my friends HCD & BP ;-))

to my girl-friends, pour mes copines...
I'm sure most of you are going to recognize yourselves in the text below.
It is an extract of the latest book I'm reading "Eat Pray Love" from Elisabeth Gilbert.
(Just for those among you that spent a precious time waiting her partner to change... :) and I'm not to mention names but I have a bunch of you in my mind, my dear girl-friends. Obviously I count myself in the package in my life story for at least 2 or 3 times with no need to think very hard...)
"I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and then I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness.
Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism."
- This is not just for you my friends but just in case I forget it once again in my life and I need you to remind it to me loudly - ;-)
Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism."
Of course there is also the second theory we try to grab to still get attached to "that relation", not very far from the one above, which is the very much famous
"Yeah but if he would had behaved like this and that, and if he would had tried this hard, and to sum up if he would have been different to himself (in other words)..., it should have worked between us"
Sure, but it happens to be that people are not different to themselves (by definition. What a big discovery here, right?) nor don't behave as we have imagined they should to match our projected disneyland expectations, and honestly I think it is better this way."Yeah but if he would had behaved like this and that, and if he would had tried this hard, and to sum up if he would have been different to himself (in other words)..., it should have worked between us"

+ Morocco & Cadiz
So no Algeria and no Tunisia but finally Cadiz (Spain :-)
Ah! and I am now back in Grenoble again, stopped traveling for a little while (...or not?)

When we arrived to Casablanca and started looking for information on visas and how to cross the borders etc.. we realized that Morocco and Algeria borders are closed.. since a looooong time. So shameless (no comment), we just changed plans and stayed 3 weeks in Morocco and 1 more week in Cadiz where we met Yves, a very nice guy that comes from France and tried to reach Cadiz hitchhiking. He failed and picked up the bus. Ah! he is also Emma´s boyfriend, his blog is linked in this blog, and despite he thinks Granada is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Spanish truck drivers doesn´t like him.( they didn't like Emma and myself either when we tried thumbs up to get a free ride to Conil de la Frontera, we still don't understand why..:-p)
And just a little personal theory here that we have arrived to my country..
I'm convinced that the longest you've been living abroad the deepest is your love for "jamón ibérico" (please refuse fake ;). Considering that I live in France since 1998, just guess...
I think it can be somthing like this and it keeps on progressing:
so now you have a good idea about our activities there... :)
[I also have good addresses both in Morocco and Spain, just ask]

Compra o no compra al final nuestra gazelle?
Compra o no compra al final nuestra gazelle?
Sil: Yes.

On-the-GO ou Leila Saida...
After my India trip cancellation and during 3 days we have tried to agree together with Emma on where we were going to meet for a little revival entitled "J'ai la terre qui me tourne".
Emma saw herself in Pakistan, Iran, India, Spain, eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey...
On my side I saw myself in Japan, New Zeland, central America, why not Greece at this point we were getting closer... but still not there...
We finally managed: MOROCCO!! yeah!
Emma who is the adventure seeker here (I'm the lazy), rapidly had this idea :
and then we go through ALGERIA and we end up in TUNISIA.
All right Emma, we'll see there but why not... :) So we both took a one way ticket and we'll meet each other on Sunday in Casablanca.
Then if she ever sails to the Caribe she can always swim up to the Canary islands before and I'm sure Emma, you will get the maximum in adventure ;-))
So, being back to Morocco etc what is the plan?, how long, and what are we going to do?... it is very simple.
We only have one limit and its stands for "the rule is there is no rule"
and now that you know as much as I do for this little trip, I leave you with this pic (real one, no fake) which I believe it is a good start for something... ;-))
see you soon!

Cantabria, ven y cuéntalo..
"Cantabria, ven y cuéntalo"
like on the Spanish television adds... :-)
Cantabria is supposed to be very beautiful: long fine sand beaches, country side, little mountains and very green because, of course, it rains a lot (there is no little miracles as you know)..
But we had super good weather during a full week so don't believe that statement anymore, I actually think it is a fairy tale or we've been really lucky... hihihi
